1) When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer, and what has your path looked like to get here?
I’ve wanted to write since childhood. In fact, the first book I authored in kindergarten was titled The Friendly Ghost. Growing up, stacks of journals filled my dresser drawers. Writing has always been a way for me to make meaning of philosophy and the unseen world.
I majored in Journalism in college, but ultimately my path led me in a different direction. Through a deeply spiritual journey, I found myself stepping authentically into my purpose as a spiritual counselor, psychic, and medium. Much of my writing now centers around my experiences working with loved ones who have transitioned to spirit and the profound ways they continue to connect with us.
My work is rooted in the belief that love never dies, and that our loved ones in spirit continue to walk beside us while living a life in purpose in the spirit world.
2) What sparked the idea for this particular book?
A dear friend of mine, Alyson Gannon, who has since transitioned to spirit herself, started a publishing company. She had an enormous heart for helping others heal through their grief and often used her own mediumistic gifts in service to that mission.
She had the idea to compile true stories from mediums all over the world and invited me to contribute. The result was The Last Breath, a powerful collection of firsthand experiences that offer insight, comfort, and hope around the continuity of life beyond death.
Contributing to this book felt like participating in a larger conversation about love, loss, and the enduring connection between worlds. I was also honored to contribute to another beautiful compilation she published, Signs and Synchronicities.
3) If you could go back and tell yourself one thing at the beginning of this journey, what would it be?
Surrender.
Drop from your head into your heart and let the words flow. When you get stuck, step away and come back later. Creativity doesn’t respond well to force.
And perhaps most importantly: what other people think of you is none of your business. The message will find its way to the audience most in need of it.
